The Valley Park School District is seeking a highly qualified and engaging Part-Time Early Childhood Teacher (.6 FTE) for the 2024-2025 school year. The Successful Candidate:

• Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
• Assesses student progress and data, provides students and parents with specific feedback and uses the results to differentiate instruction;
• Conducts ongoing parent-teacher contacts/communications, including parent/teacher dialogues.
• Regularly assesses student progress, providing students and parents with feedback, and using the results to adjust instruction as needed.
• Participates in IEP conferences as necessary.
• Teaches the district early childhood curriculum as outlined.
• Designs and maintains an attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to student learning, parent involvement, and building a sense of community.
• Reads, discusses and uses current developments in the field of early childhood education.
• Contributes to non-classroom school-wide and district-wide activities as necessary.
• Attends and participates in team, early childhood, and elementary staff meetings.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum;
• Keeps abreast of current developments in their field and continues to deepen their understanding of their discipline(s);

• Demonstrates a respectful, cooperative, and caring manner with students and adults in the school community;

• Collaborates with colleagues to grow professionally in order to improve learning for all students;

• Creates a learning environment that encourages active engagement and play in learning, positive social interaction, and self-motivation;
• Provides learning opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners and support the intellectual, social, and personal development of all students.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. 

Certification: Missouri teacher certification, with required endorsements for teaching early childhood. 

Experience: Preferred

Compensation: Highly competitive salary paid on certified salary schedule (.6 FTE)

FLSA Status: Exempt, Professional Exemption-Teacher.

Work Calendar: 187-day calendar.
