Description | Description/Duties:
The Valley Park School District is seeking a Full-time Custodian. The Custodian, under general supervision, will perform routine custodial duties and general maintenance tasks for a variety of buildings in order to maintain cleanliness, care, use, and access to facilities. The Custodian is an integral function in preserving the aesthetic presence, safety, and ease of access conducive to an educational environment.

Job Requirements:
- Requires prolonged standing and considerable walking on level surfaces as well as climbing up and downstairs and ladders (as needed).
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials (50 pounds).
- Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
- Must work in noisy, stressful and crowded environments.
- Must work in and around chemical odors.
- Must follow district guidelines regarding dress code.
- Must work with cleaning chemicals, solvents and disinfectants.
- Requires the full range of motion with neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, back, torso, knees and ankles.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Regular and reliable attendance is a requirement of this position.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 am- 5:30 pm.
As a condition of employment, all new hires will be required to complete a FBI, State Highway Patrol and Children’s Division of the Department of Social Services background check.
Qualifications:
- Custodial experience strongly preferred. School Custodian experience preferred.
- Stable work history.
- Demonstrate aptitude/competency for assigned responsibilities.
- Demonstrates initiative, cooperation and enthusiasm.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the district’s custodian job description.
